Irvington-East Loop Transmission Line

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) is developing plans for a new transmission line to help serve growing energy needs. The project would help Davis-Monthan Air Force Base satisfy its energy resiliency requirements and improve electric reliability for customers.

In cooperation with community members and project stakeholders, TEP has identified potential routes for the Irvington-East Loop 138 Kilovolt (kV) Transmission Line, which will connect the Irvington and East Loop substations, and interconnect with the planned Port and Patriot substations. TEP has identified three alternative routes within a revised, expanded study area.

The Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee will review TEP’s application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) at a public hearing beginning Monday, Feb. 24 at the Doubletree Hotel, 445 S. Alvernon Way in Tucson. A public comment session will begin on Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
